Job Description:
As the Head Chef at Willows Hotel, Restaurant, and Event Center, you will play a pivotal role in defining our culinary identity and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and guest satisfaction. You will lead a talented team of culinary professionals and oversee all kitchen operations, including the hotel's restaurant and catering for events.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Development: Create innovative and diverse menu additions that cater to our diverse clientele, balancing modern trends with classic favorites.
  • Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage the kitchen staff, scheduling, and training, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Inventory and Cost Control: Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and implement cost-effective strategies to maintain profitability.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste, conducting regular tastings and inspections.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Enforce strict hygiene and safety protocols, ensuring the kitchen operates in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Event Catering: Lead the catering team to provide exquisite culinary experiences for special events and banquets hosted at Willows.
  • Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and vendors to ensure quality ingredients and favorable terms.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare budget projections and provide regular reports on kitchen performance to the management team.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on culinary trends, introducing new techniques and ingredients to the kitchen.
Qualifications:
  • ServSafe level 2 manager certification maintained current at all times.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar upscale establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Creativity and passion for creating exceptional food experiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation and safety.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
